• Next Division L training: 20th November 2015. Organizing speech contest
• Ha Ha He He Ho Ho toastmasters changed their timings from 8.00 PM to 9.30P M PM .1st Thursday Humorous meeting and 3rd Thursday regular meeting. Please contact the President Shyamala Iyer or Past President DTM Srikumar Pai or DTM George Thomas.
• Division L will arrange a demo meeting for a new Toastmasters club in Barka. Contact Division Excom members

Photos - Judges training

Dear Division L Members,

Thank you very much for your wholehearted participation in making 'The Chief Judges and Judges Training Programme' a grand success. It was attended by 48 members, including the Division Council members. The trainers, DTM Gurbinder Singh Punn and TM Girish Kumar did justice to their wonderful work.I asked some members about their views, they were very impressed with the presentation and the organization of the entire event.

Special gratitude to Assistant Division L Director, CGD, TM Nanthakumar and Area 70 Director, TM Shyamala Iyer for being a part of the setting up team which started work at 10 am yesterday to ensure smooth flow of the program.

Judges & Chief Judges training on 9th Oct 2015

Dear Division L Members,

The Chief judges training and the judges training will be held at Ramford Training Institute, 2nd Floor, Sultan Centre, Qurum on Friday, 9th October 2015. The agenda is as follows:

2.30 PM - 3.00 PM - Registration & Networking
3.00 PM - 4.30 PM - Judges Training - Trainer, DTM Gurbinder Singh Punn
4.30 PM - 4.45 PM - Refreshment Break
4.45 PM - 5.45 PM - Chief Judges Training - Trainer, TM Girish Kumar
5.45 PM - 6.00 PM - Felicitation & Closing remarks

ELIGIBILITY : Judges Training - A member in good standing for 6 months & completed 6 Competent Communication manual projects
                      Chief Judges Training - In addition to the above criteria, trained as a contest judge with judging experience
                      Should not be a contestant in both the above cases

DRESS CODE : Informal

REGISTRATION FEE : RO 2/- per member - The registration process at the venue will be handled by Division L Finance Manager, TM Sankaran Nambissan

The entire event will be lead by Division L Administration Manager, TM Janaki Raghavan.

This is a Division L initiative and all the eligible members are encouraged to be a part of this education session.

Area Directors are requested to follow up, so that we ensure quality speech contests. Your cooperation is solicited.

Elite Toastmasters installed their Club officers

Elite Toastmasters installed their Club officers in  glittering ceremony on Friday, 2nd Octobr 2015 at Al Falaj hotel, Ruwi. Area Director TM Peter Mathai installed the club Officers.

Division Director DTM Cyprian, and Past Division Governors DTM George Thomas and DTM Srikumar pai were also present along with other dignitaries
 

 

 

 

YLP program at Galafar club

TM Balalgopal & Excel Oman Toastmasters started YLP program for the youngsters at Galfar club. An orientation program was conducted on 3rd October 20015 at Galfar club.
DTM Srikumar pai , Past Division Governor gave a presentation higlighting the importance and requirements of Youth leadership Program

TM Balagopal & TM Shyam briefed about the program schedule. This will be conducted for 8 sessions starting from 9th October 2015 and will conclude in the first week of November 2015

Demo meeting for Malayalam Toastmasters

Dear Toastmasters,

I thank you all for spending your precious time at the demonstration meeting last evening. We delivered the Toastmasters product with a lot of poise, although it was a test of my listening skills, however, I managed to catch hold of 3 sentences during the session which I was able to relay to the members during my speech. Toastmasters teaches us patience. The attendance for the session was 30 including Toastmasters which is very encouraging. We distributed promotional leaflets and more than 20 Charter membership forms were distributed. 

We will be having the next session on Saturday, 3rd October 2015. The timing is 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm and it will be held at the same venue, Ramford Institute, Sultan Centre, Qurum, 2nd Floor. If you can be of service, please let me know within a couple of days. Important roles are TMOD, General Evaluator which the Toastmasters will have to do.

The photography was managed very well by TM Binoy Raj of ABC Toastmasters Club. I thank him for his brilliant effort, in the meantime, the whatsapp photographers have send in some pictures which are available.​

I must mention this session would not have been possible, but for the hard work put in by TM Venugopal, the President ot DSTM Toastmasters Club and TM Thomas Meladan George, Past President of ABC Toastmasters Club and the current VPM of DSTM Toastmasters Club.

Please let me know your suggestions for improvements, so that we can implement it in the next session.

I salute you all once again for the wonderful support I received from each one of you for this session, including the District 20 officials with their timely advice. 

I am working towards a vision of building a new Division and you will be the biggest contributors in making it happen.

It was a grand success. It was attended by 46 dedicated Toastmasters from Division L.The program started timely and was managed very well by Master of ceremonies and Area 67 Director TM Louis Pereira. The hilarious moments in between were an icing on the cake and the timings ot the session was closely monitored.

TM Jomin Jose promoted the event very well and timely and that is the reason we had a house full at NTI.

TM Sankaran & TM Janaki were very particular about the registration and payment.

The first half concluded before schedule, thus giving time for the members to relish their snacks, cold drinks, tea and coffee. It was managed very well by Asst. Division L Directors, TM Ahsan Jalal & TM Nanthakumar.

Area Directors for Area 24, TM Govind Negi and Area 70,TM Shyamala Iyer demonstrated good evaluation skills by taking up the challenge to be evaluators.

The Advisors, DTM Clita Crasta & DTM Srikumar Pai made their presence felt, by being at the venue at least for some time.

Overall good team work, special thanks to TM Nanthakumar & TM Louis Pereira for being at the venue at 10 am today.

Division L Education session on Fri.11.Sept 2015

DIVISION L EDUCATION SESSION ON FRI.11.SEPTEMBER 2015

Dear Division L Executive Committee members,

Our next Division L Calendar event is scheduled for Friday, 11th September 2015. It is going to be an educational session which will cover finding new members for your club, membership growth, orientation. The program timing will be approximately 45 minutes

We will also be screening all the 10 speeches of the finals of the World Champion of Public Speaking at Las Vegas. As suggested by DTM Srikumar Pai and TM Nanthakumar, we could also have the evaluations done, so that the members are attentive and a concise evaluation is delivered at the end. This program is for 1 and half hour plus time for evaluations.

So the entire module should be a 3 hour event. Registrations will be done with the Adminstration Manager, TM Janaki Raghavan by the 7th of September 2015. Depending on the registrations we will book the venue. The charges for the program will be RO 1/-  per member. Please let me know, if any of you would like to be the Event Chairperson.

I would also like to know whether any of the Division Council members are interested in doing an educational session for the upcoming Division L Calendar events, if so, please let me know.

In addition, Educational session for 20 minutes can be done at Aladrak Toastmasters Club, NTI Toastmasters Club, Sohar Toastmasters Club and Sultan Qaboos Toastmasters Club. Please contact Assistant Division L Directors, TM Ahsan Jalal on GSM 9327 3706 or TM Nanthakumar on GSM 98202704 for finalizing the schedule. It will give an opportunity for the Education Panel members to be speaking outside the club.

I would be pleased to have your views and suggestions by the 31st of August 2015.
